  1. I have the same problem mate and you're right, it is really annoying. My hearing's got worse over the years and my wife is constantly telling me I'm still indicating, unfortunately she doesn't have a volume control either.
  2. In my case the sensor was functioning perfectly and would give good readings, it just wasn't positioned correctly in relation to the wheel and so would throw up errors while the car was being driven.
  3. It really couldn't be simpler or more straightforward if you've got two keys mate.
  4. Seriously mate, I'd try this method first as it's really simple (especially as you have two keys), works perfectly, and is so idiot proof even I managed it at the first attempt. You don't need to mess around with the VCDS clearing memory slots or anything like that and you'll have both your keys programmed in two minutes with zero fuss. I'd change the batteries in them first to save messing around in the future. The information and instruction you need starts 9.00 minutes into the video. I wish I'd found it ages ago as it would've saved me a load of hassle in the past. Let us know how you get on please. 2003 A6 C5 key reprogramming (two key method) - Audi A6 (C5) Forum - Audi Owners Club (UK)
  5. That must be about the only electrical problem I haven't had on mine yet Steve!
  6. If I didn't know better I would've put money on you driving a Peugeot with those symptoms mate, never come across it on an Audi yet. With the Peugeots it's a worn part at the base of the indicator stalk in the com unit, I don't know if/ the Audi units suffer with the same sort of issue.
  7. Ah, an R8, I can only dream! Lovely car mate, and welcome to the group. And I'd love to see some pictures of your car if you get chance to post some.
  8. I had a loose wheel speed sensor that was throwing up similar problems with warning lights, might be worth checking mate.
  9. Try this mate, I don't know if it's applicable to your model and year but it worked perfectly for me so it might be worth a try. 2003 A6 C5 key reprogramming (two key method) - Audi A6 (C5) Forum - Audi Owners Club (UK)
  10. I really struggle to believe that people think it's perfectly fine to drive around like this. Legal it may be, advisable it definitely isn't.
  11. A bit more info for you mate. Efficiency mode is a mode designed to optimize fuel or electricity consumption and maximize mileage. In this mode, throttle response is subdued to reduce power consumption, and the AC system is put in ECO mode. Throttle, transmission, differentials, adaptive cruise control, and even climate control parameters can be managed to reduce mechanical resistance and improve efficiency. You can use Drive Select to pick Efficiency and get the most efficient group of settings, or use Drive Select to select Efficiency MODE, turn the car off and on, and you will get "Not Quite As Efficient Efficiency Mode".
  12. It's the DIS Efficiency Programme light, nothing to worry about. It just relates to things the effect your MPG, stuff like using your AC etc.
  13. The green symbol, sorry, question mark not working on keyboard.

I'm definitely with Steve on this, get it scanned for faults first, could be something simple and if nothing shows up at least you know. After that if it still feels wrong get it dyno tested on a rolling road and found out if the torque and BHP figures are badly out or if they're sort of in the ballpark for what Audi are claiming.
  15. Just from experience I needed a rear axle for my A6 last year, all the ones from breakers in this country were nearly as bad as mine, but I found a brand new remanufactured one from Poland on Ebay. The price was fair, quality was excellent, and apart from HMRC wanting their pound of flesh at this end delivery was smooth and hassle free. Check their reviews mate and use PayPal for your own protection, definitely preferable to scrapping the car.
  16. To be honest I would avoid AliExpress for an important (and probably still quite expensive) part like that. I play guitar and some of the fake branded instruments I've seen people pay a few hundred quid for from that site have been truly shocking quality and not fit for purpose, so I can only assume you would be taking the same sort of risk with automotive parts. Now, if a guitar turns out to be an unplayable piece of junk that falls apart after a few months you end up looking stupid and out of pocket, if it's an important piece of equipment on your car the result could be far more serious, costly, and could land you in court even. You are FAR better off using EBay if you don't want to pay dealership prices in my opinion.
  17. If this is the engine you have the red box is the electronic EGR control valve, the green box is the vacuum operated EGR cooling flap solenoid.
  18. If you get some I'd be interested to find out how they look if you could let us know here please. I've got a couple of worn ones myself, usual suspects, heater fan up and down, seem to be the most used buttons in the world. I just set the temperature on mine, put it on auto and leave it alone. Works well enough for me.
  19. LHyyY Car Air Conditioning Button Sticker For Audi A4 B6 B7 2000-2004,A/C Controls Radio Dash Buttons Sticker Interior Accessories : Amazon.co.uk: Automotive I don't know if these are the exact ones you need but you should be able to find the right ones if not. Hope that helps, but as I said, I can't vouch for the end result if they turn out looking naff.
  20. Yeah, I've seen complete reproduction sticker kits, I can't speak for the quality of the end result though as I haven't tried them myself. I'll find the link and post it here mate.
  21. Is it just the markings on the buttons that are worn out or are the actual switches not working, sorry, question mark button's died on my keyboard.
  22. I replaced the CCM in my '03 A6 C5 1.9TDI with one that had the identical part number a couple of months ago and it was completely plug and play. Your key fobs will need to be reprogrammed however, but it's a really quick and straightforward job if you have two. I posted a guide in the C5 forum that explains it step by step. Hope that helps you mate. Edit I've just noticed the CCM in your avant ends in an N and the saloon in a K, weirdly the one in my saloon is an N, go figure.
  23. Not necessarily so. As I mentioned in an A6 C5 topic I only recently discovered the previous owner of my car had removed the EGR valve, however I had no problems with emissions when I put the car through its MOT in September. I realise this may not be the case for everyone but that's my personal experience if it's any help.
  24. Like a '70s hot rod mate!
  25. I think they're meant to be on all the time, I just found this on another site In UK, new type approvals (ie new models introduced) after Feb 2011 had to have always on front DRLs. Hope that helps Jason.
