  1. Hi guys, So i posted a few months back about my A3 8P 2.0 TDI S-Tronic having some ghastly starting up issues It began when the car was warm only. Which when im doing a trip with a few stops, was awfully embarrassing. It would either have a really clunky start up, or take two attempts to go. More recently (within the last month) it has begun to struggle anytime i try and start it. Warm or Cold. Id heard thousands of reasons why it could have been ranging from £13 fuel filters to rather pricey injectors. So, my first option was to change the fuel filter. Dont get me wrong, it needed a change, but it did absolutely !REMOVED! all. Along with these changes, its had a full set of refurbed (no way new) injectors, new starting motor and various parts changed. Thats all exept the crank sensor. Which notoriously needs the gearbox taken out to get to, (so im told by my own workshop). Im all for getting this done, but is it really necessary. I spent less on my X-Reg fiesta, and that never had an issue. Typical. Has anyone else had this changed, and did it solve the issues with their starting up?? Note: Recently the ESP failure message has been coming up too. Im unsure if this is linked. :( .
  2. They are a nightmare!!!! Im pretty sure theyre doing some sort of community service because they look like convicts I ended up getting a machine polish, and £200 worth of smart repairs, and sent the bill to the headquarters for Hands On, and after a lengthy arguement, numerous photos of before and after (that put them down a bit), they sent an assessor out who thought he knew his stuff, but they paid up in the end. As soon as 'criminal damage' was mentioned, they backed down.
  3. Our sainsburys down here just do it, or a friend had the same issue and they claimed 'a bird had !Removed! all over the windscreen'. Although, they cleaned the whole body work bar the windows...
  4. Hi James, Its actually had 2 machine polishes now. Originally it wasnt awful, but the valeters at sainsburys washed my car without an ok from myself. After a long winded complaints process, they paid for both polishes! The rest are on the drivers door and roof, which will get sorted as soon as a few mechanical bits and pieces are cleaned up. Ill sort some photos out soon. Thanks for the welcome! :)
  5. That sounds a little more reasonable than a dual mass flywheel!!! I usually service my own car, but the last being an old fiesta, i presume this one is going to take a bit longer, is it relitively easy to change?
  6. Hi there! Ive got a 2.0 tdi dsg in grey that ive owned for about 3 months now. Needs some serious work doing to the body as its covered in scratches, a smart repairers nightmare car.. But ive got a few modifications going on at the moment including some nice shiney bits for under the bonnet to bring it back to life. Looking forward to seeing some posts!
  7. Firstly, Hi! New member here, Ive had my 2.0 TDI DSG for about 3 months now, and starting it up is becoming more and more of an issue, When its warm, it really struggles, and i have to give a stupid amount of gas to get it started, and sometimes its just too stubborn and wont start atall for a few go's. The problem is now constant and it doesnt matter if its been sitting cold for a whole day, it just cant seem to start up easily. Ive been told it could literally be anything, although im choosing to ignore the higher priced issues, it doesnt seem like the fuel is getting round the system, as it often judders once its started until i start to move, when it then sounds a bit happier. The driving experience hasnt changed whatsoever, infact my mpg seems to be better than ever. Does anyone have a similar experience? Thanks!
