  1. Hi Neil, I bought my A4 cab 3.2 Quattro recently and it came with this problem. It’s a pretty easy fix. The boot release actuator had packed in. It’s a cheap replacement part and there are some videos of how to replace it on YouTube. I would imagine that your Avant is a similar but not identical fix. I had to remove the boot lid liner and then swap out the the old actuator with the new. Top tip: take photos of how the old one is connected up before removal, for reference. I could have saved me some time if I had done that!
  2. Yup! Genuine OEM, which I have done. They’re Audi stamped and in Audi packaging and they fit. The real deal.
  3. Hey, seeing as you may be buying parts, here’s a class website to help you find parts or, at the very least, the exact part numbers: https://www.lllparts.co.uk/home Also, I found a couple of cheap places to buy parts on eBay (coming from Slovenia and Lithuania): https://ebay.us/m/bPA84s https://ebay.us/m/XWYJvN I hope these help. 👍🏻
  4. Yeah, I tried on mine too. I think it may have been an optional extra.
  5. 🤣😆 it does state that ChatGPT may be wrong at the bottom of its page. I’m glad you found the solution. Have you had the car long? Apparently, some B7 models have the compass feature in the rear view mirror! According to User Manual.
  6. Hi Nathan, I pasted the image into ChatGPT. The AI reckons you need to change up gears to be more efficient! 😆 Here’s the explanation: That >E< symbol on the DIS (Driver Information System) of your Audi S4 B7 Avant is the efficiency / gear shift indicator. What it means It’s prompting you to shift up to a higher gear for better fuel economy. The “E” = Efficiency. The arrows > < indicate a recommendation rather than a fault. Typically appears when: You’re accelerating lightly The engine is at higher RPM than needed The ECU calculates a more economical gear is available When you’ll see it Most common on manual gearboxes. Can appear in Tiptronic / manual mode on automatics. More noticeable in steady cruising or gentle acceleration. Is it a problem? No — completely normal. It’s just Audi’s early eco-driving aid (pre-“Drive Select efficiency modes” era). If you ignore it, nothing happens — it doesn’t affect performance or reliability. If you want, I can show: How to disable it (cluster coding via VCDS/OBDeleven) Other common B7 DIS symbols and hidden warnings I hope that helps buddy. 👍🏻
  7. Video is not working for me. Anyone else?
  8. Rosslyn, use this link to ID your model and part. You can get the proper part number from it. This is a brilliant resource I found from a member of this forum’s post. I’ve found parts for mine which I could not anywhere else using it. https://www.lllparts.co.uk/catalogs/audi/RDW I hope this helps, Sean
  9. Why not post some pics of the problem and the YouTube video link?
  10. Where did you get the blacked out badges and grill from please? Cheers, Seán
  11. I believe you can get an armrest insert with cupholders. Alternatively, if you bin the CD changer, you can get a universal 'pocket' / cubbyhole insert with drawers, one of which has cupholders once pulled out. Check eBay.
  12. I've answered this question at the link below. Please note I paid someone to do it and initially it was not working nor was the steering wheel / stalk controls talking to the radio. There's a little intermediary black box which handles that which had to be replaced as one of its chip track legs had corroded away, no doubt caused by a spillage from the cupholder area (I had to clean significant gunge out of it after buying the car!) I hope this helps. Seán
  13. Hi Gordon, a few months back in my 2006 Cab 3.2 Quattro S Line, I had a Sony XAV model installed (I can't remember the exact model right now). It has touchscreen, CarPlay, BT, DAB, USB connections and an HDMI input. It really de-ages the look of the centre console. Works great. I had the CD changer removed and will be putting a 'cubby hole' in instead. I know the SEAT Altea 2005-2007 single DIN pocket fits it perfectly, but I'm looking for one with a front flap that closes. I think the head unit cost me around £500. Others, including cheaper (!) are available. Edit: I think it is this one: https://ebay.us/m/LIYYAp I hope that helps! Seán
  14. Cheers Gareth, PM sent!
  15. Interested if still available! (Bit late to the party as only joined this club recently.)
  16. I have this (the knock), I've narrowed it down to the upper control arms.
