  1. Looks like it’s the Chinese take-away in Dunstable Kev! Kind regards, Gareth.
  2. Hello Imran, I would certainly go with the cambelt suggestion of every 5 years - but I would think 75k miles would be reasonable if covered within the 5 years. Kind regards, Gareth.
  3. Hello Steve (Durham), Wheel bearing associated noises will normally vary on bends, as stresses are thrown onto or off the wheels on each side. My first port of call would be to eliminate all tyres as possible culprits, before moving on to more complex possibilities. Kind regards, Gareth.
  4. No longer available according to the link.
  5. Hello Geri, Thanks for joining and welcome. I guess we are talking the brake fluid level light here-? If so, and the level is acceptable, then suspect the float/level sensor or its connections. Kind regards, Gareth.
  6. Thanks Daryl, Didn’t you put new tubes in then? Kind regards, Gareth.
  7. Hello Louise, Have you managed to get any further with this? Kind regards, Gareth.
  8. Hello Brian, I wouldn’t renew anything, if you have only just bought it - from a dealer? If so, they have to rectify the issue for you. Kind regards, Gareth.
  9. This is getting tedious, but - again - what does the handbook specify? If Audi cannot give you a change date, then I would treat their reply with caution.
  10. Hello Adam, What price are you looking for, as opposed to offers? Stating that price will save you and potential buyers from being messed about. Can we take it it’s been in your family for 15 years? Obviously you choice/risk to include your phone number on an open forum, but please let us know if you want that amended to:- ‘Please PM me’. Kind regards, Gareth.
  11. Thanks Cheshire Steve, I don’t think you can really criticise National Tyres and Kwik Fit too much in this situation, where I guess they were conducting these inspections free of charge. Sounds you have found a reasonable fitter, and let’s hope and trust that the issue is now resolved and doesn’t return. What brand of discs did he fit as a matter of interest? Kind regards, Gareth.
  12. Hello Sam, Despite the fact that you don’t have any codes showing on your equipment, it might be well worthwhile checking all connectors that you may have disturbed while renewing the cambelt. Kind regards, Gareth.
  13. Hello Andrew, When re-reading your initial post, I note you say ‘…yet previously it was Castrol ….5w/30 for 24 month service interval’. Who has been servicing this car, and what do the service invoices list as the oil used? What does your handbook list? - sorry to ask again. Kind regards, Gareth.
  14. Hello Ken, RH6580 - believed fitted to rear of A4 Avant between 2001 and 2008 - fitted with Sports suspension. I’ll amend your post to include this detail. Kind regards, Gareth.
  15. Handbook Andrew?
  16. Thanks Terry, Yes, I did understand the use of ‘upgraded’ in your context - hence the reference to the overriding affect of 21 inch wheels ( with very low profile tyres?). Although I understand that you have to replace the shock absorbers, I doubt if ‘softer’ ones would be available, and indeed if they were, they are unlikely to counter the comfort reducing issues resulting from low profile tyres ( and sports suspension?). Still…. worth having a word with Bilstein. Kind regards, Gareth.
  17. Many thanks Rit, This topic has been well aired on another post. Kind regards, Gareth.
  18. Hello Ken, What model years do these fit? Are you happy to show your contact number on an open forum, or would you prefer for me to amend your contact to ‘ Please PM me.’ Kind regards, Gareth.
  19. Thanks Curtis, Are all of these from your 2020 A4 ?? If not, could you list exactly what you have, for what models and years, together with the prices you want for them. Kind regards, Gareth.
  20. Hello Keiran, Worth registering your ‘want’ on car breaker link sites - Partsfinder is just one. Breakers who have what you want will then contact you. You might find that breakers don’t want to sell that bit separately however. Kind regards, Gareth.
  21. Hello Terry, I fear 21 inch wheels certainly don’t contribute to a comfort based ride, and I seriously don’t if ‘upgraded’ shock absorbers will improve that. ‘Upgraded’ usually equates to even harsher rides. Bassett Steve says, Bilstein are reputable, and it might be worth a phone call to their technical chaps to talk it through. KYB? I have fitted these on non Audis in the past, and my experience point towards them not lasting as long as I would have expected. Kind regards, Gareth.

Can we take it you have registered your ‘want’ on the on-line breaker link sites? - e.g. Partsfinder - there are more. Kind regards, Gareth.

So are you saying you have also investigated the specialist repair route as well?
  24. Hello Andrew, Welcome, and thanks for joining. Re. 0w/20 vs. 5w/30, have you consulted your handbook to see what specification is recommended there? I would take that as the bible. Incase it helps, I have been using Quantum oil in our humble A3, over it’s now 170+K miles. Quantum is/was VAG’s recommended brand so I’ve always stuck with it, and my routine has been to use their Longlife grade, and change it annually, even though the car only covers approx. 7K miles in that time. ‘24 month service schedule’? Far, far too long an interval in my book, even using Longlife oil. With the advent of stop/start etc. modern oils get a hammering, but it’s understandable that many car manufacturers use extended servicing schedules. As with crazy ( in my book) extended limits for cambelts etc, manufacturers are become less interested in revenue from servicing, and hanging their hats on the far more lucrative market of selling more vehicles, and appear to have less interest in making sure vehicles are maintained in respect to their longevity. Kind regards, Gareth. p.s. Quantum is believed to be a subsidiary brand of Castrol.

Hello Louise, Might be well worthwhile also searching ECU repair specialists. Kind regards, Gareth.
