Hi Folks. I have an Audi 80 B4 series 2.0 litre, 8 valve, ABT Engine. Does anyone know if rough idling or erratic/uneven idling is a common problem with this engine as I have seen another owner with the same problem with a Volkswagen Transporter T25 2.0 litre petrol in a monthly magazine publication in the problem/letters page as I have experienced the same problems and does anyone know a fix/cure for this? Many thanks. John
  2. Hi Folks. I am currently in the process of replacing both of the front wings on my 1992 Audi 80 B4 series saloon. I have stripped the old front wings off the car. I am now looking to find some replacement wings. Can anyone out there recommend good quality replacement wings that also fit well on the car and are a reasonable price? I know that some replacement wings do not fit properly and need a lot of fiddling about to get them to fit. The Original Equipment (OE) wings are far too expensive as I am currently planning to sell the car and I am not interested in old ones from a scrapyard which will contain some rust which will come through again after they are repainted. Many thanks.
  3. I have a 1992 B4 series ABT engine code, 66KW, 2.0 petrol, 8 valve Audi 80 and recently the rear mounted wing aerial has broken. I have had a look in my Haynes manual but there is no reference of how to remove this. I have removed the inner carpet from the boot wall and have removed the small nut and bolt that goes through the bodywork that secures the bottom of the mast securely and have slid out the bottom of the mast with the rubber washer that holds it in place securely. Now the mast is loose but doesn't seem to come out. I don't know if you need to push it down or pull it up as it is hard to see at the top of the underside of the wing. I can only see an earthstrap pretty near the top where the aerial mast goes through the wing.Has anyone out there any ideas as to how to remove the aerial mast? Do I push it down, pull it up or is there something else to disconnect it that I have missed or can't see? Any help would be much appreciated. Many thanks John
  4. Hi Folks. I currently own a 1992/1993 K reg Audi 80. It is a 2.0 L ABT engine. I am currently in the process of changing the Distributor Cap. I have bought it and tried to fit it by lining up the rotor. I also labelled the HT Leads with numbers and put them back where I thought that they should go.I have re fitted the new cap and it is now not starting up - it is misfiring when I turn the key in the ignition. Does anyone have any ideas why the car won't start? Have I knocked the timing out? Many thanks. Johnny G
