  2. Definitely a sensible choice. If you'd taken ownership it'd be a nightmare for you to sort the tax situation out.

  4. Hello Sean, It’s now Wednesday following you joining and posting your request for help on Monday. Mark has given you a most helpful reply, but it appears you have not returned to the forum to read, let alone acknowledge, the help you have been given. Please don’t continue this ‘Post and run’ tactic. Regards, Gareth.
  5. Hello Holly, I can understand you being the parts chaser, otherwise you are paying the mechanic for his time to do so. Having said that, I don’t know exactly how you are going about this, where you have looked to date, whether you are set on secondhand parts, and all important - do you know the part number of the hub you are searching for. Perhaps you could colour in this detail for us Holly. Regards, Gareth.

  11. I started my car a couple weeks ago and accidentally blipped the throttle while it was on cold start and got this horrible rattle that I can produce every time, it now does it for a split second when first cranking the car. Does this sound like the chain? Thanks https://youtube.com/shorts/x58XhvWhios?si=z8ipEYDhh-ZZeeoB
  12. Sad to say I'm selling what has been my pride and joy for the last 4 years. Honestly gutted to be selling but I have a new job that comes with a company car benefit too good to ignore (making the jump to EV...). 3 owners, full service history and I've just had all 4 alloys refurbished, she's running great and looks even better. 15. Thanks for the quick response! I was suspecting a worn rubber bush or but always worry it might be more (praying its not!). There's no leaking fluid anyway but I will update as soon as I get it looked at.
  16. The very first week I had my new 35TFSI a stone from a lorry hit my headlight and cracked it. I was gutted. I see it is possible to replace just the glass (plastic). Has anyone done this? Can anyone tell me how to remove the headlight? Is it an easy job? Thanks.

  26. Hi everyone, First time poster here. I'm driving a 2021 A5 Sportback and am noticing a sharp plastic creaking sound coming from the glove box area when going over speed bumps or dips in the road. On occasions I also get this noise on the drivers side too. It's noticeably worse when the car is hot and have a feeling it's the piano gloss black plastic that sits above the door handle and also to the right of the steering wheel on the dash. When pushing it, it feels very brittle and makes a plasticy sounding creak which is the noise I think I'm hearing. This is my second car of the same model and both cars did it. Does anyone else have the same issue or know what the fix could be? I've attached some photos of the offending areas. Any advice would be great. Thanks you!
  27. Thanks Gareth. Got some money back from dealer, using the diagnostic report as evidence. Did a dpf cleaner run through the tank, it's not come on since, but there's numerous records on the obd of egr valve. Dealer paying for 40% of valve replacement (plus cooler) as I've had only 2 events since I had it and they should have checked it before sale. I don't want to cause any more problems to engine and emissions system by ignoring it, so going ahead this Wednesday.
  28. Thanks Akash, please let us know how you get on.
