2015 A4 Cruise Control Failure
George Atkinson-Clark replied to George Atkinson-Clark's topic in Audi A4 (B8) Forum
Thanks Steve - actually this was the second opinion as our local garage suggested the same but recommended I go to a specialist to confirm. I was hoping there might be some work-around like a reconditioned unit or some sort of part exchange. As the car itself is probably only worth about £7k if everything was working, I am not keen to spend half the car's value on one bit. -

Jon77 started following Any North Yorkshire clubs?

Morning all. I’ve been searching round the forums for any local clubs or meets in North Yorkshire but I can’t seem to find anything recent. Is there such a thing, and if so, when and where do you meet? Also, do you go to events as a club and pitch up inside the event? I went to the modified car show at Scampston Hall this weekend and there were loads of clubs there but no Audi ones. Looking to get back into the scene as a mature enthusiast after a hiatus to do grown up things like start a family! thanks in advance. Jon

Don’t forget to disconnect the n battery for 30mins before disconnecting any under-seat electrical connectors - or run the risk of air bags going off. Regards, Gareth.

Passenger footwell water - comfort module
Steve Q replied to millertime9's topic in Audi A4 (B7) Forum
Correct that's where the CCM is. It would explain why the keys aren't working properly. Be careful of your electric windows as I suspect they might not work properly either. If swapping the CCM you'll need one that's got the identical part code. -

Is it on one side only? If it's from one wheel is that brake disc hotter than the rest? I ask as it could be a stuck caliper. -

Likely to be multi-spline bolts, 12 point bolt. You’ll need 1/2” ratchet, extension bar, etc. Very easy to cross thread when refitting, always hand start and don’t use power tools. Nip up at each corner. No idea if they use thread lock?

What are those weird 4 bolts, how do you remove them!?

Hi all, I think it know the answer but need to check.. Cars been sat up for 6 weeks as I have an EV and im looking to sell it I thought I had better give it a run, but battery was totally dead So brought battery in, charged it, but keys wouldn't unlock the door or boot so assumed it needed re-paired to the car as the battery was so flat I started the car, worked fine - great BUT.. When i tried the sequence to re-pair the key fob, there was a hell of a weird vibration noise coming from the front oaasenger side, the glovebox was vibrating like mad Turns out the passenger footwell is soaking, proper soaking - i peeled the carpet back and there's a few cm of water 😞 Am I right in saying this is where the comfort module is? Is it being in water likely the noise somehow and this is the real reason the fob doesn't work the central locking? I love the car but if this is what it is id imagine its expensive and not worth fixing 😞

Hi everyone I bought this car a few months back and everything was fine, i then started hearing a squeaking kind of noise on what seemed like every full wheel rotation. I initially thought cheap pads, so i had them replaced, but the noise persists. Im now wondering should i replace my discs too? Do my current discs look glazed to anyone? There is about 1-2mm of a lip on the inside of the discs too. When i put my hand on the passenger side caliper and push or pull, it makes the noise heard in the attached video, does this maybe resemble loose brake components? Or maybe a ball joint or bushing? When i move off, or come to a stop, there is a clicking noise from the front too, no noise when turning though. Im unsure which side as it is hard to pinpoint . Passenger side CV was recently replaced and the boot etc on the drivers side all seems perfectly intact. Any help would be appreciated, thanks in advance :) Snapchat-1300956027.mp4

jjirvine replied to jjirvine's topic in Audi A3 (8Y) Forum
Hi Steve. I’ve had another message from Joe to give me the heads up. I’ve managed to get the insert out of the boot using a combination of 2 wheel cap removal tools which loosened off the plastic button holding the thing in place…without damaging it which was a result. Thanks very much for your help…brilliant forum for information. 🙏 -

Hello! I have a problem with my 2013–2016 Audi A4 B8.5 2.0 TDI 177 hp Quattro 6-speed manual. I’m getting the "Steering Lock: Contact Workshop" error on the dashboard. In VCDS, the error appears in 05 - Acc/Start Auth. as 03026 - Enabling Terminal 15 with faults 006 and 009 (Short to Ground / Short to Plus). The ignition turns on, but after pressing the clutch and pushing the key again, the car doesn’t even attempt to crank. Instead, it turns the ignition off. If I hold the clutch pedal down with the key in the ignition slot, it eventually starts after multiple attempts—sometimes on the second try, sometimes on the 20th. This error and starting issue are intermittent. If I clear the error or disconnect the battery, it works for 1–2 days (or less). The battery is fine; it was replaced last year and coded to the car. The steering lock also functions correctly—the wheel has never locked or failed to unlock. This issue occurred last year. The mechanic opened the plenum chamber under the windscreen, cleaned the cables in the junction box (center of the plenum) with sandpaper, and sprayed them with contact cleaner. I repeated this process this year, but it didn’t help, and the cables showed no visible oxidation. Worth noting: I’ve had drainage problems in the plenum chamber. Water pooled there because the drains were blocked. The issue happened last year during heavy rain and has recurred this year under similar conditions. Here is the VCDS scan for the 05 - Acc/Start Auth. (BCM2) module: (If needed I can provide a full scan for the car) Address 05: Acc/Start Auth.
