  2. Hello Dan, Probably best to PM Andrew, since he hasn’t been on here for over 9 months. Please let us know the outcome. Regards, Gareth.
  3. Hello Marc, ‘….probably fitting the same type again… ‘ If so, then the risk of the same end result may well remain. Why not dip into your pocket and get one (and the rubber seal) from Audi, and ask your garage to fit that. If you do suffer any issues after that, you can then eliminate the thermostat as the culprit. Regards, Gareth.

  5. Hello Cassandra, Was the light in the tailgate section damaged in the accident?
  6. That's atrocious if it was done via insurance, and to be honest it's just as poor if it was cash in hand! Regards the lights - definitely second-hand. Can be refurbished is not available from Audi anymore. Wet sand, then polish with Menzerna. In respect of the water pooling in the boot, they two issues could be completely unrelated, especially in the wiper motor is going haywire. The Valeo unit eventually dies due to the brass/copper pipe that runs to the water jet breaking. This leaks water into the motor and eventually into the boot. There should be an Audi sticker on it - plug and play if you replace. Just get the same part number.
  7. Thank you, I called the insurance company and the re opened the claim and are getting an assessor to look at what's going on. It's so random to have water inside the car. Thank you
  8. Hi Gareth was naive to think a new OE part fitted for last 2 months could still be the issue, but looks like it is. They will probably fitting the same type again. But hoepfully this one will work. Getting done next Thursday, will report back. Thank you for reply and thoughts
  9. please keep us posted on how you get on
  10. Different coil packs could imply the previous owner has been trying to fix this issue for a while. Make sure the guy deleting any codes saves notes them down first. Please keep us posted on how you get on
  11. I'd get this back to the garage that did the work as it doesn't look right.
  12. Welcome to the forum you'll find the members on here are a friendly and helpful bunch 🙂
  13. Hi all, recent owner of the above car, loving it... the best car I've owned, always a pleasure to drive. Looking forward to getting to know you and learning things here. Thanks

  15. Dear All, I just wanted to remove my oil pan on my 2.0 TDI CGL 177ps multitronic Avant because of leaking (damaged draing plug hole). Everything is removed in the area, no bolts are holding the pan but I'm still not able to pull off, don't have enough space. I'm a bit confused at the moment, at the front I've also removed A/C compessor and removed 2-2 bolts from subframe but it is not moving anything...How can I create more space, any idea?
  16. I had a panal beater paint the bumper and fix some damage, and since then a large amount of water was found where the spare tire lives. I have no idea how the water is getting in,but notice a large gap in the panels by the lights?!? is this normal or could they have put the wrong parts back on. Also my back window whiper is acting all weird and not working as it once did and the boot lights look old/all dull now too.
  17. Yesterday
  18. also the fuel said 20 miles left, and i topped it up today before seeing this with £8 worth of premium unleaded. As because the car has been sat for a year hardly used i thought it best to get some fresh fuel in it.
  19. I had the carbon clean guy booked in, Its not overly expensive, £90, and for that he is going to also scan it delete codes and rescan etc and let me know what comes up. Currently although i have the car, The dealer has let me take it with no charge, to see if i can fix the issue, The dealer has been fair in this regard. I figured for £90 it was worth the gamble with the clean, whilst also having the codes looked at as i dont have a scanner myself. So he is due tomorrow morning. and i will know more then. Im hoping his scan can tell me what the issue is, fingers crossed. I did find a bill in the glove box for 8 spark plugs, and 1 coil pack. Also when i looked under the bonnet, there is a mixture of coil packs, a mixture of black and red coil packs, Is this normal ? maybe different brands etc are conflicting with each other, and im wondering why they only bought 1. well lets hope tomorrow brings good news lol
  20. This forum doesn’t have any issue with your user name either, but it does have certain standards in relation to actual names, and my personal view is that by changing it from ‘D’ to ‘&’ is simply an attempt to be clever and to extract the urine - impolite! I’ll refrain from further comments about your posts and wish you, and those you deal with at the dealer, good luck with your purchase. There we are then!
  21. Is this available?
  22. It’s Thursday tomorrow Mark. Any further thoughts on your Carbon clean?
  23. perfect thanks, I've jacked her back up and found a slightly loose starter earth but surely that wouldn't be it. i will disconnect the alternator plug and check the draw. ill keep you updated. i will have closer look at the multi meter to get the amps in the correct power. seen as i've only fiddled with the starter i assumed it would be that but alternator could be a shout.ill update tomorrow once ive had a fiddle about.
