Perhaps it’s worth speaking with some other A3 owners, without scrolling back through this post I believe it was only Q3 & A1’s affected as they share the same/similar head unit. Either way the problem seems to have rectified itself now, so it may be coincidence that you lost stations at the same time and may be a genuine fault with your A3?

Sadly that doesn't work, it just singles out the top most station ! I lost DAB in March/April when everyone else did so I am sure it's the same fault. Very annoying and don't want to risk spending £160 with Main dealer only to have them fob me off like others in this thread ! I have done a reboot of the MMi, but also no joy from that. Grrrrrrrr

Not too serious, but also not cheap to fix depending on what needs to be renewed.

It's about £1700 Gareth. A considerable sum to lose if I am understanding Riyss properly.- 7 replies

On the Q3 if you press the memory tab it takes you to the memory(your stored stations) if you press memory again it takes you back to the full station list.
-
Hi Paul. Thank you for your reply. I've had the car three years but the significant thing to say is my DAB dropped, stone cold dead, in March or April this year, which seems to be when everyone else's did ?

Thank you Richard. I can't seem to be able to navigate to a list of all stations ?????? I can get only as far as here.......... confused !

Thanks - that doesn't sound too serious then.....

Apologies, I wasn’t aware of the deposit paid - £ equivalent? Without looking it up. Non refundable may well alter the advice given.- 7 replies

If I understand correctly you have paid a $3000 non refundable deposit so you are committed to buying the car. Is that correct? I suggest you assess whether the total purchase cost plus the cost of necessary repairs is worthwhile, or whether you should abandon the deal and lose $3000. Only you can make that decision in the light of local car values.- 7 replies

So you have a pair of worn out tyres at the back and two unmatched new tyres at the front? It's not worth considering any thing else until you get the tyres sorted out.
-
It's usually a faulty temperature sensor/control module. Diagnosis with a decent OBD reader should reveal the fault.

Hello Riyss, It would seem that this car has had a ‘disrespectful’ owner. If I was in your situation, I would simply walk away and forget it. Aren’t there any other examples to consider?- 7 replies

If it were mine, my priority would be to sort the tyre situation out first. On a personal preference basis, I’ve not had the life out of Handkook tyres that make them a worthwhile consideration - others may well have different experiences. I’m currently ‘experimenting’ with Kumho tyres on the non-Audi, in case it helps.

mleighton started following Cooling fan on permanently
-
Has anyone else experienced this? The cooling fan comes on when the engine starts - even when stone cold - and remains on until the engine is switched off. Accompanied by a drive system warning light. My local workshop has been unable to identify the fault. I will need to take it to Audi I guess, but would like to anticipate what it might be.

I know. I have the same fear. It’s because I paid a deposit of 3k before I can take it for ppi. And I can’t get the refund unless car has major accident or engine issue. I’m stucked. It’s illegal to drive in Singapore with such tread level too. I believe he used to drive the car up to north Malaysia frequently as he is a Malaysian. And it’s roughly 600km from Singapore to north Malaysia. I assume he has been driving harshly which causes all these wear and tear so quickly. Is this wear and tear concerning given the age of the vehicle ?- 7 replies

Gt1984 started following Wheel Bearing??
-
I had my rear right wheel bearing changed last month which was quite severe almost sounded like a helicopter noise mechanic changed if I remember correctly cost about £120 problem sorted instantly
-
You're welcome, doesn't sound like the battery is at fault. Could it be an issue with the instrument cluster?
-
This article might help: Either way check near the manifold, cat, or other places along the exhaust or even dpf.
-
You're welcome. If it is the ballast then this can be changed but might need to be coded in.
