  2. I bought the above in Feb this year, not my first Audi, with standard 17" alloys. One week later I put on a set of genuine 20" Rotors with correct tyre size ,profile etc. The next day a front spring snapped while parked up. I replaced both springs, since then I've had to replace both front bearings and driveshafts. All inside 2k miles. The car had 90k on it. So? Was this just mileage sensitive wear or have these wheels been the cause? Wheel alignment was done when fitting the bigger wheels. Just unlucky?
  3. Offers welcome on these. Need them gone to buy something else. 😁
  4. Hi Steve this is the pic first of engine
  5. I'd get this into a garage asap. Let's hope it's a chain and not the crankshaft etc.

  9. I'd recommend a diagnostic check to see if any fault codes flag up or get an auto electrician to take a look.

  11. Hi. I seem to have an issue when starting the car from cold. The car starts fine from cold but after around 30-60 secs, it starts vibrating/shuddering and the engine stalls. A message comes up stating: start/stop system fault. Function unavailable. No other errors or fault codes come up. I wait about 1 minute and start up the car again. Sometimes it starts fine from the second attempt and this time no vibrating/shuddering or stalling. Sometimes it takes 2 or 3 further attempts to start the car eventually without stalling but then it runs fine. The strange thing is that it only does this at cold start. The car runs fine for the rest of the day with several engine starts without stalling or vibrating. Also the start/stop system works fine for the rest of the day. This has happened at the current time which is during summer and not at cold weather conditions. I have bought a new battery as the battery was a bit old but the problem persisted even after installing a new battery. Any help in identifying the cause of this issue would be appreciated.
  12. Still knocking, has been to three garages now, no one seems able to diagnose the issue just want to start swapping out parts which I'm not keen to do as it gets pricey, battery was diagnosed as faulty (replaced and wasn't the original), TPMS sensors seem to have a mind of their own.....TBH is feeling a bit flaky as a vehicle, had multiple BMWs before this and never suffered this many faults this side of 100K
  13. Hi I've a 2010 audi a3 8p 2.0 tdi I'm struggling to find the location of egr also instructions how to take out and clean wen put back on does it affect codes or the computer etc too many thanks stu
  14. Hi Cliff , yes lots of miles 170,000 -I'll look for VAG specialist great idea thank you . I'm not a mechanic in any form - and not much money
  15. You have not mentioned the mileage Steve, but at 22 years old your car must have done a circuit or two around the Earth. Most of us recommend independant VAG specialists rather than Audi main dealers. An internet search for "VAG specialist" should reveal several in your area.
  16. Hi, Anyone familiar with this metallic ticking noise? Sounds like loose chain, but it is 2.0 TDI on Audi A3 8V. Could it be sign of oil pump going bad? VID_20250710_140426107~3.mp4 VID_20250711_101802402~2.mp4
  17. Hello I'm a new member with an Audi A2 2003 (I've had it over ten years car not knocking)with a knocking noise, sounds from engine /suspension area - I'm definitely not a mechanical person I just love quirky motors . looking for local Audi member rather than main dealers
  18. Pleasure Glyn. We look forward to hearing of the outcome.
  19. Hello Paul, A simple point, but the replaced bag would now be 6 months out of its 1 year warranty, so…. So is it/isn’t the offender? We cannot know because we don’t have access to the vehicle, but it’s surprising how many replacement parts aren’t of sufficient quality to survive beyond the warranty period. Some of the Range Rover models use air suspension systems, so might be well worth your while to search out and tap into experience there. Another alternative would be to seek advice from Bagpipingandy (Ebay and probably website) - obviously north of the border. This is one of the most experienced pioneering chaps on all things air suspension. Please let us know how you get on Paul. Regards, Gareth.
  20. Ok Gareth will do that thanks for your input.
  21. Non-manual choke? If so, could be the cold start/ coolant temperature sender which is at fault. This would be the sender which assesses the coolant temperature and signals the degree of fuel enrichment required. Regards, Gareth.
  22. I realise that. The question is what you are going to do about it. Pay out for another air bag, or claim against the garage that fitted the first?
