New member here, looking for advise, I was pretty stupid recently , I decided take a look around the Audi A4 B8 hidden green menu, I made a few changes without keeping track of them I now have a list of greyed out items that do nothing but get on my nerves. I’ve tried doing the 3 button reset but it does nothing. Does anyone here have knowledge on resetting to ‘the you bought it new menus?

A little update for others who may wonder the same; I’ve gotten it confirmed from the Audi dealer/importer here in Norway that my manual ‘13 A3 with the 1.4 TFSI CMBA engine does in fact not have a DMF but single mass. Ill be ordering a sachs clutch kit and swapping it out myself, seeing as the kit itself is only 220£ and I’ve been quoted from 1700 to 2500£ for just a clutch swap, which is insane in my opinion.

All working again for me today

OK, AutoCarPart1 (4592) in Brum has a pair £146.82 incl delivery.....does this sound reasonable? There are MUCH cheaper on Ebay but I thought a mid range price would be fairly safe.....should I be asking myself "what are you like" or am I probably OK with these? Thoughts welcome.

Right, just talking to audi now, if this is the problem, a new component ( because of course, you can't just buy the unscrewable ball jointed little metal arm, oh no, it's a complete sensor assembly) at just shy of £205........going on Google now with the part number he very kindly supplied me ( totally against company policy of course). So I'm looking for 4F0941286B and hope that I can get a pair for rather less. He did talk to their senior tech who knows about "legacy vehicles " - his words - and was told that this may sort the problem but if not it's a recoding exercise at the dealer, probably about £100. I'll keep you posted folks.

Gawd, I WISH I was computer literate......I'm doing this reply on my Samsung tablet, taken a piccy of the dangling arm but don't know how to get the image onto this reply.....I know, I'm hopeless 😢

Hi I am a new member and have an issue with my lights when i turn right the dip beam comes on and when i turn left it goes back to normal. I have had diognotics dont and turns up with no fault. Does anyone have any idea why it is doing this.
-
OK, I hope this posts....bugga, not IT literate, how do I attach the photo? It's on the driver's side, one end attached to a green plastic thingy and the lower end is floating loose.
-
Any pics? There are ride height sensors on rear passenger and front passenger side. Works with headlight levelling, etc.

Davie, just to let you know I had the crank sensor replaced and it worked! Have been driving it for over a week and no more issues. Thanks so much - my garage saw nothing in the diagnostics and were suggesting they start ripping out all the wiring estimating up to £2k with no guarantee of finding the cause. Hope this thread helps someone else.

Newsflash.....OK, managed to get a jack under the car, got the offside wheel off ( may I recommend the Parkside 400Nm ugga-dugga, very quick!) and had a look. Now I'm not an expert on these matters but the suspension height depends on what the little sensors on the body and attached to the lower suspension arm should be attached by a little cranked arm with ball joints on each end......the lower ball joint has disintegrated and the rod is dangling free.....this would cause the problem I'm having, yes? I dunno what the little cranked arm is called but I intend to replace both sides as a touch inspection of the nearside one feels very wobbly. Thoughts much appreciated folks.

Charlie_SQ2 started following SQ2 windscreen sun shade
-
Hi folks Just picked up our lovely new SQ2, but have noticed straight away that when it's warm and sunny that MMI screen in particular gets very hot when parked in direct sun. Can anyone recommend a model-specific fitted SQ2 thermal/reflective windscreen sun shade to help keep things cooler? Just worried that the heat might damage it over time. I've seen some online from Australia but they're ££££! Grateful for any suggestions!

Does anyone know what this part is called on a ng engine
IHK 11 replied to IHK 11's topic in Classic Audi Club
Hi its under the thin one. It looks like a bracket mounted to the side of the engine. It has 2 bolts holding it on and looks like it may have a gasket. Thanks. -

Can anyone help please? I have had a full service done on my audi a6 2015 and the break pads sensor came up after 2 days the sensor turned off and the engine light came on. Went to a garage they scanned the car and it came up with maf sensor, so i got that replaced and they removed the engine light but after 10-15miles of driving it came back on, went again to the garage and same thing came up maf sensor.

refa started following A4 fuse and relay pulling as anti-theft measure
-
Hi everyone, I recently bought a 2023 A4 Avant 2.0 TFSI (left-side drive). Since I live in an area where car thefts are not that unusual, I want to make sure the car is not startable. Logistically I am fine with pulling the relays and/or fuses every time since the car will not be driven every day and is in a garage. Could you guys provide some opinions on the following ideas: ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Fuel-Pump control unit fuse -> Fuse 16 in ST1 in Relay and fuse carrier 1 -SR1- with fuse holder B -SB (Drivers foot support) This fuse is relatively easy to access (one screw) and should disable the fuel pump. Car will crank but no start. Starter Relay(s) -> R2 and R3 in Relay and fuse carrier 3 -SR3 Not sure how easy this is to access but from the picture in "fitting locations" it does not look too complicated. I also don't get it why are there two starter relays. Is one for the motor and one for the solenoid? If those relays are out car will not crank but the fuel pump will flood the cylinders. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Correct me if I'm wrong, but there shouldn't be any negative effects for the car by letting it sit for a couple of days without any of those fuses/relays. And did I find the correct fuses and locations for wanted effects? audi-a4-2015-fitting-locations-eng (1).pdf audi-a4-2015-wiring-diagrams-eng (1).pdf

Redred started following 1.4 tfsi Clutch high and occasional squeal
-
Hi all, the clutch on my 1.4 A4 seems really high. It doesn’t seem to be slipping, but if I do a spirited launch from standstill then there’s a squealing metallic sound from the engine bay just while the clutch is slipping until fully engaged. Doesn’t do it at low power takeoffs. Considering the mental cost of doing the clutch on these cars I’m considering whether I should gamble that it could go on like this for a long time or move it on before it fails. Could any fellow owners let me know if a high clutch biting point is normal on the 1.4?

Spring should be ok as new top mount replaced, someone suggested it could be swaybar bushes…it’s so annoying and now my mechanic suggested going to an Audi specialist fgs…..
-
Not sure what else to suggest. A mechanic will get a pry bar on the lower arm bushes. Any flex, then swap it out. On the bright side you’re rebuilding the front suspension piece by piece. 😉 Double check the coil spring hasn’t lost an end and it’s sitting properly. I’m sure if you had top mounts done that would have been spotted.

Hi all. I have been through the search functions but still unsure as to what size space saver to get for my Allroad. I see people have bought a 19” and got it to fit in the boot. When checking the rolling circumference of these they do not match the rolling circumference of my 245/45 R 18 wheels and tyres. I assume as a 4 wheel drive , this is more important. The size of the space saver is 125/70 x 19. Any help appreciated
