  2. Yeah was gonna do this. Don't fancy chasing wire all all around the car. Done that years ago in an old E30, that was ok because they didn't have the speakers in the doors just in the front kick panels and rear shelves. Plus not replacing the whole system like I read some have done, just the speakers that have blown. I actually quite like the sound in our A4.
  3. Hi all, newbie here, I have a 2014 Audi Q7 which is now due service as light is on. I am more than capable of doing the service work myself and would rather do it myself after bad experiances with a few garages not doing all the work and making mistakes. Only issue is resetting service light, I know you can reset oil change light yourself easily but obviously resetting service is a different game as you need correct VAG equipment to reset. Does anyone know of a hand held scanner which will definitely reset the service light as a few claim to but im not sure. There are a few scanners around the £150 mark which i dont mind spending but any advice would be amazing, many thanks.
  4. Well, still no idea what that telephone fuse is doing on the MMI loop, but to solve the issue, I wired the fuse to power only on ignition not constant live. Car still struggled to start in the morning, but it did on first try, it's never done that before. It was constantly drawing 7 amps, got it down to 0.9. I think I need a new battery as that's been up and down for so long. Let's hope this fixes it for now and I can remove the second battery. I fitted the missing mmi mechanism, somehow it doesn't fully sit in the dash, but pops up fine and the switches on the mechanism are now pressed. That's a job for another day..
  5. Hello, I got the dreaded shift to P before leaving blah blah blah warning, took the gear selector apart, found the colour of the bypass switch I would need, ordered, tried to fit, does not fit. tried the black one, also does not fit. I do not want to change the whole gear selector, one price, two the car is not even 5 with less than 40k miles, three it’s a hassle to change and I could be asking for more issues. Does anyone know how to fix this that doesn’t require a whole new selector or parts 500-713-128-A & 3Q0-713-128?
  6. Rather than create new post, probably better updating your original post 😉
  7. Guys !! this is my 2nd post regarding a creaking noise on the left side front. It only happens when I turn left slowly when parking up etc… I’ve had top mount, ball joint, track rod end and drop link replaced but the issue is still there. I’m sick of spending and not getting to the issue. I’ve booked it in for a diagnostic with an Audi specialist next Friday. The mechanic who’s done the previous jobs advised to do that. I’ve added a video with the sound of the issue. If anyone has had the same issue any advice would be appreciated. Someone has said change tie rod arm. IMG_7325.mov

  9. Thanks Phil, Why Autodoc, with the added postage, and apparent ‘can get it wrong service’ - although I’ve never used them? In case it helps, I favour Parts in Motion, who offer a selection of brands of the same part, and free postage. Apologies for regularly mentioning these ( no personal contact), but they have never failed to offer me a great service at competitive prices. Kind regards, Gareth.
  10. Hi Gareth, Think I found what I need on Autodoc. Fingers crossed these are easy to fit and fix the low pressure fault.
  11. Good Morning. I was wondering if anyone has had experience of the gear stick becoming "floppy", ie. not returning to its central position when not in gear. I could get the gears okay, but I had to be very careful so as not to select the wrong gear. I have taken all of the gear stick components out, and there are now just two rods in view that connect to the gear box. My question is :- is the centralisation of the gear stick controlled by the round gear box rod, or within the ball type assembly at the base of the gear lever? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
  12. Thank you for joining and advertising Samcurman. Having said that, I really don’t see this being particularly inviting as listed. Could you please amend your Profile to include your location - big place is your ‘united kingdom’! This would be considered important detail since it’s likely this would be sold via. ‘Collection only’. Other vital details not included:- Price. ( ‘Offers’ not acceptable). Condition. Please come back to us on all points raised. Regards, Gareth.
  13. Thanks Steve, I think I would simply list it on EBay if it were mine. I’m sure someone would appreciate. Kind regards, Gareth.
  14. Hi everyone, I bought my Audi A6 black edition 2017 a few months back. Unfortunately the car doesn't have the apple CarPlay not even a USB port 🤣 I'm thinking of replacing the sat nav with a new one which has the carplay but I can't find someone who can change it for me and recommend a good sat nav in London! I would appreciate any suggestions on this matter! May thanks in advance!
  15. Just pulled the cover off the module, everything looks in decent order, no fried bits. Gave everything a thorough blast with contact cleaner. Put it back together and plugged it back in. And sadly nothing.
  16. Please keep us posted on how you get on. Also the VW T-Roc or Seat Ateca one might fit as they're sisters to the q2.
  17. Glad we've helped 🙂
  18. Glad you've found it's getting power, keep us posted on how you get on cleaning the tcm.
  19. Looks great 👍 🙂
  20. Audi would have the original part number for the unit, not sure what other way you could get the original part number.

  22. Just pulled the TCM or TCU whichever you want to call it, from the left front wheel arch. All the connections look ok. I checked the plug and there is power getting to it. So that sort of rules out any blown fuses maybe. Will blast it all with contact cleaner. Otherwise my next options are see a expert or buy a new TCM which is about 300NZD or 150 pounds. Just trying to keep the thread going for anyone in future if they have the same issue. Side note if anyone has the wiring diagram for the plug id really appreciate it if they could send it through. Would help to see if any particular contacts should have power Cheers
  23. Does anyone know the part number for the MMI unit from a 2013 A6 Allroad? It's the 245bhp variant if that makes any difference. I've got currently got a replacement unit from an A7 (I'll spare the back story) that is mostly compatible but cannot be recoded to match the car, and has an open circuit which means the centre console strip with start/stop, parking sensor etc does work. It also has put an airbag warning light on the dash so won't be able to pass an MOT until it's replaced. Unfortunately I do not have access to the car's original unit to check the part number. Any recommendations of where to source a second hand unit outside of ebay would also be greatly appreciated. I'm looking into aftermarket carplay type units as an alternative to replacing OEM but from what I can tell these still plug into the existing MMI unit? Thanks For reference the pic attached is the kind of part I'm trying to source
  24. Any updates or replies to questions Leo?

  26. Will do!
