Based on this information: https://www.vwaudiforum.co.uk/forum/showthread.php/137643-Little-button-below-and-right-of-fan-speed-control?p=1037665#post1037665 ... It looks like the indicator on the left would light up if the auxiliary heating is activated remotely, or via the MMI. Whilst I've seen plenty of references to fuel-based aux heating systems in VW manuals, I've not seen it available in any of the VW group cars I've had. Suspect it's more for the colder bits of Europe.... Someone here will know more. Do you have this feature on your car?

Any ideas what the icon to the left is?

lakoe started following Misfire Diagnosing on my S5
-
So to start, i have a 2008 Audi s5 with the CAUA 4.2 v8. It has 100k miles and about a month and a 1/2 ago it began getting misfires in cylinders 1 2 and 4, so i went about diagnosing and checking the plugs and coil packs and it wasnt them so i moved to injectors recently and took apart the intake manifold, pulled both fuel rails and replaced the 3 injectors on 1 2 and 4, did a carbon clean and replaced the left sides o rings but not the right injectors o rings. i also didnt replace the teflon seal or the intake manifold gaskets when putting it back together, so i finally get it all together and the misfires on 1 2 and 4 are gone but now its cylinder 5 along with a lean code (whats different from when i bought the car - cold starts are a lot quieter, doesnt scream like it used to, much slower, almost sounds muffled when its straight piped, feels like its running on 5 cylinders not 8 and lastly when i do a pull above 4k rpm, a flashing engine light comes on for 5 seconds and then goes back to a static engine light) only ideas i have is to take the whole manifold off once again and replace the other side of fuel injectors o rings, and replace the two intake gaskets. TLDR - 3 misfires, replaced injectors now all 3 misfires gone but new one on different cylinder and lean code. drives the same before fixing.

Well, I ran the adaptation last night, and have been for a drive today. For sure the throttle response is massively better than it was, and no light. However, it was sometimes going a week without showing so time will tell. Will let you know 🤞🏼

The manifold and flap motor came together. Whilst the genuine Audi product was unaffordable, I went for a new EBay aftermarket unit which comes with 2 years warranty, thinking that I didn’t want to take a chance with a second hand unit. i have a VCDS but no where does it give me an option to carry out adaptation of the unit. I am able to turn the flap motor on and off manually and do an overall test Any ideas as to how to get the adaptation done and using what tool?

Stevey Y started following Dreaded P2015 inlet manifold flaps and Air vent silver ring question?
-
Hi pretty straight forward if you look at the second picture the tab in front of you has no locking hook, that is the position tab which is lower and wider than the rest so if you find the reciprocal slot on the vent once located it should just push in. Steve.
-
Hi please let us know how you get on.
-
Hi yes the new unit has to be adapted so that its new values can be learned, was tan aftermarket/second hand manifold? Steve.

Engine juddering when accelerating FIXED

Gordan. Joe has not returned to the forum for eight years so it's unlikely he will reply. However I thought his final report fully explained the problem and its cure quite well. -
Just fyi - I can remap my car up to an additional 25% with no increase in premium through Admiral. Ordinarily, that would be the limit of what is achievable and would be fine. In this case, of course, it is more like a 40% increase that is achievable. I was told by Admiral that was uninusrable and when I asked Phantom Tuning in Kent if they could add tweak the map so that it only upped the power to 360bhp they said they were not able to do that. Fair enough - I am sure there is a tuner out there who could, but it might be more expensive. Shame as for a one off cost of £250 and no increase in insurance premium (and konwing the map was well within tolerance and yet would still be noticeable) I would have gone ahead.

Hi Joe2016, These exact things are happening to my 2016 A4 B8. Can you please tell me what issues were found and what was done? I have been having a nightmare of a time trying to get it fixed.
-
As for my opinion, I reckon it's worth exploring different options to get your horn back in action. Whether it's fixing the current one or going for that air horn upgrade, safety comes first, right? But always stay street legal, no need to get on the wrong side of the law!

Hi all. Does anyone know of someone or someplace that can do VCDS recoding in the North East. I was all set to go to a nice chap called Claudio at VCDS Diagnostics until I realised he was 271 miles away. I am needing my head unit removed and recoded to UK spec from Japan as well as a few other little jobs. Any help appreciated

Thanks Ali, Did you ask your mechanic to estimate the work involved? Kind regards, Gareth.

Hi, Can anyone please explain how to re-align the metal ring surround on the air vent. It has many tabs and slots and I can't figure out how to re-engage it? Thank you

Struggled to find a supplier and in the end ran out of time as I was topping up virtually every day. -
Hi Everyone I bought audi a4 2015 2.0 tdi earlier this year, had service done few months ago because of high milage I am doing and everything was fine just today EML came on, went to a mechanic who removed the light and told me to come back if it pop back and it did. He showed me there were three error codes does anyone had same issue or know how much I’ll be looking to spend. 1. P069100 Cooling Fan 1 control circuit low 2. P200200 Particulate Trap bank 1 -efficiency below threshold 3. P210000 Throttle Actuator control motor circuit open. Thank you.

Hi - thanks for the info. I have a Carista OBD device so I’ll try the adaptation using that. I checked online and it supports that functionality. Fingers crossed!

Welcome Frank, and thanks for joining. You will hopefully get other views to help you make your decision. I must admit that I am not basing my comments on personal experience, but on that gained by an elderly friend, who was totally disappointed with the ride comfort of a newish S Line - chosen by his children - due to its ‘look’. I think, but I’m not certain, that Audi seem to link the attractive specifications and ‘toys’ with the S Line, so if you want these attractive features then you have to ‘put up with’ the harsher ride quality. It’s worth examining these cars in terms of possible low profile, possibly XL load rated tyres often associated with larger wheels, which further aggravate the ride quality. Technik? Sorry Frank - no knowledge. Does this all boil down to style vs ride quality -as you think? I feel it likely does, so the decision has to be made to go with which of these two is most important to you. Please remember that this is a one-person opinion, but possibly includes a couple of pointers to guide your options while you await other advice. Good luck and kind regards, Gareth.

I’m afraid I couldn’t find any other UK options so had to pay dealer prices. The car is very seductive to drive but boy do you pay for it!?
