Welcome to the forum you'll find the members on here are a friendly and helpful bunch. Check service history for proof of cambelt and water pump changes and gearbox services. Make sure ac works as compressors can be expensive. Make sure the heater works consistently between all vents and heat is the same. If not it could be an issue with the heater matrix. Issues with dpf, egr are well documented. Check YouTube videos for buyers guides

Chris hall posted a topic in Audi A6 (C7) Forum
Hi people I’m looking for a recommendation for a specialist for diagnostic and repair on my 2016 rs6 in the north east / North Yorkshire area ideally, it’s causing mayor headaches and most google searches bring up people down south if anyone can point me in the right direction it will be appreciated Thanks Chris -
A6 c7 pulsating brakes & wheel vibration cure

Thanks! I bought the car and went directly to the very north of Sweden in the beginning of February and it was cold 🥶 as hell like -25 Celsius so one theory I have is that the discs weren’t worn in and got overheated and warped if I braked to hard. but I will try your advice first then and secondly change discs. Bosch discs are about 45€ each at AUTODOC so not too expensive. - Today

Hi all. I'm a long term VW owner and had quite a few different models over the years, currently running a b7 passat. I am looking at purchasing my first Audi. I'm looking at A6 Avant's. 2016-2018 models. I'm after a 2.0l auto black edition and have a few to look at this weekend. Does anyone have any advice on what to look out for. The last dsg box I drove was on our mk7 golf in 2014 but unfortunately this lasted a grand total of 6 weeks as the car got nicked and we went back to manuals. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks

Hello Ian, Remove the auxiliary belt and see if the noise on cold starting disappears or not. Regards, Gareth.

Someone did suggest that to me, but it's strange that the noise goes away after cold start. I was thinking oil starvation? But then the interval of the sound doesn't match up..

Hi, Have recently noticed a rotational noise when driving - wheel have been balanced and tyres were checked during balancing and all good. Has anyone any idea what this might be, have attached a video, noise can be heard slightly in the background..... Definitely seems to be in line with wheel rotation / speed and volume varies from hardly noticeable to quite loud. Any advice / input gratefully received! 20250509_173656_1.mp4

So I finally tracked them down and as I thought, they're aftermarket "MAM 6" wheels, which are (not surprisingly) unavailable new any more. http://wayneswheels.net/MAM_WHEELS.html I really like the way they look on the car, 17's are plenty big enough for this style and they are almost identical to the TT/RS wheels of the time.

Thanks. That's really helpful. Changing the front discs this weekend so while I'm at it, will jack it up at the rear and see what markings I can find on the existing springs and hopefully match them against the LLL parts website.

Definitely try this. If the discs are warped then it brings into question how the car is being driven or the quality of the discs. -
Could it be an issue with an auxiliary belt or tensioner?

Fantastic news 😁

See if you can cross reference it here. There are huge numbers of spring options available, depending on electronically controlled dampers, standard, sport, etc. The springs should have coloured dots. Frustratingly LLL Parts don’t give a particular breakdown in this instance. Double check with your engine code. This is for 2017 S5 Coupe/Sportsback. https://www.lllparts.co.uk/catalogs/audi/RDW/A5CO/897/5 Don’t under-estimate work to fit. It’s a Quattro, so space is limited. You’ll need coil spring compressors and a bottle jack to extend the lower arm. I’d disconnect the shock absorber too. Replace the rear spring seats too, likely they are corroded. Check bump stops while you are there. No reason to adjust the rear subframe, but if you do, only one bolt at a time. Also watch you don’t release the eccentric bolt on the lower arm or you’ll need to get the camber realigned. You might want to get the car 4 wheel tracking done for peace of mind afterwards. In terms of brands, Suplex has good reputation.

Firstly, saying hello. New to the forum as I've recently picked up a 2017 S5 Sportback. hoping to get and share useful info! Now down to business. Took the car in for an oil service and during a quick look over the car, they identified a broken rear left coil spring. Only broken right at the bottom so not really noticeable visibly or when driving ... however, does need to be replaced as that's a MOT failure. My and my brother are quite handy with cars so this is something we can definitely do ourselves but I'm really struggling to find the correct part aftermarket. Genuine Audi springs are almost £180 each and I want to change both as I'm not sure if the current springs are genuine Audi and wouldn't want to mismatch. However, at £360 for the pair, was hoping to find some lower priced alternatives. Can anyone recommend any that they have used? I'm not interested in lowering springs. Just ones that have the same spec as the Audi ones but obviously less harsh on the pocket. I did look online and a few options came up but noticed the specs vary so I'd want to be sure they are correct for this car as I'm assuming the S5 springs would be different to a regular A5. https://www.autodoc.co.uk/car-parts/coil-springs-10213/audi/a5/a5-sportback-f5a/123113-s5-quattro?criteria[100][]=HA Any way I can find out the Audi part number so I can match them up? Any help appreciated. Thx in advance.

2009 Audi A4 Suspension Issue – Bought from Dealer
Mark Valley replied to Mark Valley's topic in Audi A4 (B9) Forum
Hello all, Thank you for your help, and apologies for the late response. I got the car back yesterday—they’ve replaced the arms. I’ll be taking it to my friend’s garage to record a video of the post-repair condition and will share it here. There’s still a minor issue with the dashboard brake pad warning light. It remains on, even though the brake pads, discs, and sensor have all been replaced. The mechanic wasn’t able to resolve it and mentioned it’s likely related to the wiring, requiring an electrician. The dealer has agreed to arrange one. If anyone has experience with this issue or knows what might be causing the light to stay on, I’d appreciate any insights. After that’s sorted, I’ll also be getting the belt replaced as a precaution—it’ll cost around £200. The last belt change was 9 years ago when car mileage was 51k Kind regards, -
A6 c7 pulsating brakes & wheel vibration cure
gurra76 replied to Steve Q's topic in Audi A6 (C7) Forum
Hi all, I have the exact same symtoms on my 2016 Allroad C7. Some pulsating when braking in lower speeds and higher speeds on motorway (110km/h) when braking lightly the car shakes. I feel its from behind since i feel it on my bottom in the seat. Can try this advice. But should it be back discs that is warped otherwise? the disc are brand new, changed by previous owner (I Bought car this january) Or is it more likely to be the front discs? They are also new. -
Hi all! This is my first time posting here. Unfortunately, my car has developed a strange "barking" noise on cold start only. As soon as the cold start cycle finishes, the noise pretty much stops. See the video here Does anyone know what this noise may be? Thanks in advance! P.S I know that I need to clean my engine bay 😉

Hi all Is there a workshop manual that's available which covers the 2.6 V6 Coupe? I've seen that Haynes did one that covered the earlier models to 1990 but this doesn't include the 2.6. Even an exploded parts diagram would be of assistance if this is available anywhere. Thanks in advance
