Rear wash wipe

Featured Replies

Hi all

Just been going through the service history for my A6 Avant and it suffered from the broken tailgate wash pipe just under 3 years from new!  And it wiped out all the electrical stuff in the n/s boot compartment, Bose amp, DVD sat nav and tuner!  Audi repaired all of this under warranty for the then owner.  Then in 2015 it happened again!  This time the owner had to pay, but fortunately the electrical stuff was not damaged, but the repair cost him £224 at Audi.

So I'm thinking of checking and changing this pipe this weekend just to be sure but I can not find anything on youtube about how to go about this?  I'm thinking of using a silicone type of pipe which should not suffer from cracking.

Is there a guide anywhere?

My mk1 Ford Focus estate and son in laws hatchback both suffered from this exact same problem!  It appears to be down to the corrugated pipe that is used, it fractures all too easily.

Thanks

Peter
