Electrical Issues after battery disconnect

Hi, I recently had to change my alternator and between one thing and another the battery was disconnected. Since then I've had a few electrical "issues" with things not working (fuel gauge, keyless entry, rear demister, heated seats...........) Some things have sprung back to life by themselves. 

Also I'm getting a little "hop" on the rev counter if I'm trying to hold revs at around 1500.

Has anyone had experience with this? Should everything work itself out? Does the car need to have some programming redone?

Any help would be appreciated.
