Very occasional engine skipping noise

Featured Replies

I have the 40 TDI 18 months now and reported this issue to dealer ages ago, they couldn’t find anything wrong.

It only happens the very odd time and only on startup of car. (Maybe only once every second or third month roughly)
I can’t seem to pinpoint any pattern, not in cold weather or when car hasn’t been started for a while for example.

It sound like something is missing a beat or not spinning smoothly is the only way I can describe it.

I’ve attached a video with it happening the other day for the first time in about 3 months I’d say.
I might forward on video to dealer and ask them again, they couldn’t reproduce it when looking at it before and I hadn’t any video for them.

Any ideas?

The car was at idle and the rpm were not fluctuating, could this be the case and still be an air leak / hunting?

am sure it is  taking air in  some wear  bud  check  all pipes  back the inlet manifold
