Denispearl
Hi all. Thinking of buying TT diesel with about 50k miles. Of course quattro.Looking for the best and most reliable option in therms of engines. Any other things on those models one need to be aware of? Of course quattro. Many thanks for your tips in advance. BR
Steve Q
If you're looking at diesel then to my knowledge this was only available with a 170bhp 2.0 litre unit. With quattro make sure all tyres are the same brand and tyre wear is even as uneven wear can damage the quattro system.

Audi didn't put much effort in it then) Is it reliable tho? Any issues? Thanks in advance
Steve Q
That was the only diesel option. Petrol engines in the mk2 were a 1.8tfsi or a 2.0tfsi. I'd avoid the 2.0 as it has nothing but issues in the a5 etc. And if it goes wrong you might find it hard to find someone who will work on it. I speak from personal experience, my mate struggled to find someone to put a new timing chain on her a5. I think the diesel is the best option personally.
