Turbo

Featured Replies

Hi everyone .

My first post on here .

I own a 2014 A6 3.0tdi and have had nothing but problems since I bought it a year ago.So far I have replaced the injectors and egr valve and oil cooler.

Now the turbo electronic actuator has packed in.I had already replaced the turbo with a reconditioned one and this has also failed with the same problem less then 2000 miles of use.

I have spoke to my mechanic who is an Indy specialist and he has advised me to get my old turbo reconditioned and a tutor replaced and set up but unfortunately the turbo special to I was recommended has said that he can’t do these turbos as he can’t get the pats for them .

Now with the prospect of having to fork out a over £5000 for a fitted turbo I am wandering if I can just remove  the actuator and replace it with a plug and play one ? Has anyone had experience with doing this themselves ?
TIA

What were the original symptons bud? I'm chasing what sounds like a knocking noise when everything is warmed up in Drive and Reverse when manoeuvring my 2012 BITDI at slow speeds. Both Gearbox and Engine have been serviced, the electronic EGR and Engine mounts are also new. The sound is worse the hotter everything is, (ie after a good blast). I've wondered what actually happens when the selector is moved in to D or R if it relates to anything moving around the Turbo area as this is where the sound is loudest.

Let me know how you got on.
