Aftermarket Stereo

Hi all, I am looking at upgrading to an aftermarket stereo and have settled on the Sony XAV AX1000. I have never upgraded a stereo or anything similar before so I am looking for a little help for what I need.

I know that I am going to need the dashboard trim which I imagine is pretty standard and can buy anywhere, I know that I will also need the wiring harness. Now with the wiring harness is there anything specific I should know for it or could I use just a universal one, I am not sure if there is any drawback

I should note that I don't have the Bose sound system or any amp.
