Fault Codes 00457 & U0001 HELP WANTED!

Featured Replies

Hello all, I'm new to Audi's and have done a scan on my car which has appeared to have thrown up two fault codes under Air Conditioning, the aircon doesn't appear to blow cold either, any help towards what the cause of this may be would be greatly appreciated!

The codes are as follows:

00457 - Control module for network (J519)

U0001 -  CAN bus drive

Thanks in advanced everyone!

The first error is a problem with the humidity and air quality sensor. . Its purpose is to detect harmful substances in the air being drawn into the cabin (e.g. high levels of NOx, exhaust fumes etc.). The purpose of this sensor is to switch the air dampers to a closed circuit if harmful substances are detected in the intake air. Like all components, it can also break down. Nothing lasts forever. Before you start replacing it, check the contacts and wires first.

Second case the possibilities are many :

A break in the power supply to the module that set the code

A break in the ground to the module that set the code

A break in the CAN bus + circuit

Short circuit to ground in any CAN C bus circuit.

Diagnosis of this diagnostic trouble code (DTC) is based on the symptoms of the vehicle

Check more codes

Control module wiring harness is open or shorted

Poor electrical connection of the control module circuit

Loose, corroded, bent or short-circuited CAN bus wiring harness

Low voltage due to defective battery or corroded terminals

Defective or short-circuited control module

Control module has lost memory and will not restart due to temporary loss of power.

May require reprogramming or ping command to start
