Audi A4 B8 Manual locking when actuators are not working

Featured Replies

Hi all,

I just bought an a 2008 Audi A4 B8 Saloon. It's got the common issue of the door locks not working.

The front driver door and passenger door both require 10 pin actuators.

And the rear right side door requires an 8 pin actuator.

But all I can find anywhere I check is 7 pins for the rear right and 9 pins for the two front.

Does anyone know if these will work if the shape of the connector is the same? I read one forum where someone put a 7 pin actuator into an 8 pin slot and it worked. But I'm not sure where I can find an explanation on why it should or shouldn't work..

Oh yeah I forgot to ask, is there a way to manually lock the car while I wait for the parts. I read how to lock it in the scenario where the battery is dead but then it says to unlock it you have to press the button on your remote. But that's not currently working on three of the doors so I don't wanna be stuck with all the doors locked and not know how to open them 🤔
