I have just purchased my first A8, its an 09 plate bought from an Audi dealer. Can anyone tell me if, they have experienced a similar dashboard noise in an A8 and if so how it was resolved...

I'm curious as to what the noise you're hearing is. You've said you're hearing a noise but not said what it is so it's hard to say what it might be and how it could be fixed.
