Hi guys n gals,

A cold and snowy hello from brighton ... ( its really a warm hello but its so cold here )

Im joining the audi owners sites so i can try and get a little info on the best of the ranges ( A4,A6 Etc )and the one`s to steer clear of ( problematic motors ) as i intend to own one of these in the next few days as i need to replace my existing car and i am on the look out for my first audi which i would like to be of the A4 or A6 range and preferrably S-Line or similar, maybe even le-mans models. But before i get into all that in the right forums i just wanted to introduce myself and lookforward to your conversations.

Thanks

;8)

Are you considering RS models. The RS4 is a very good used bargain at the mo and it shares its 4.2 V8 with the first R8 supercar. Considered by quite a few journo's to be the best all rounded engine in production today.

If not then any diesel S Line model should be reliable compared to most other cars. I would recommend the A4 as the 6 is that much bigger and that much more difficult to park.

Glen.

:P Of course you are .... i never doubted that for a second.

When you say RS4 ... yeah i would love one of those but on what reg ? ive got 10k and my current 2001 mondeo to trade so the options i have are really down to A standards with a bit of S-line thrown in for good helpings and most of those have between 80000-110000 on the clock. not only that but is it me or is that sort of milage a lot for a 59 plate ? or have the engines changed that much now they can go on for miles ..

Theres quite a few out there i could go for but need to chat to you guys before i do as i really need the advice and if ok i will throw at you what i have found ( 57 thru to 59 plates ) and maybe see a good car for the dollar and i could make use of the help from you on this forum for others.

And to become a life long memeber too :D
