Audi Q7 2012 3.0 Diesel Coolant Temp Sensor Location

Featured Replies

Evening All,

I’m trying to find the location coolant temperature sensor for my 2012 Audi Q7 3.0 diesel.

I’ve been having hot start issues - replaced starter, battery, cam shaft position sensor and o2 sensor.

Mechanic is perplexed as car starts and runs perfectly until you drive for a long period, stop the car and try and start it again.

Reading it could be engine coolant temperature sensor, fuel system related (running out of other things to test!)

Cant find anywhere that gives correct position for the engine coolant temperature sensor.

Any ideas / images much appreciated.

Is the car turning over and not starting when hot or not turning over at all? If it’s turning over it’s more than likely going to be the crank shaft sensor. Mine did it a few years back and is quite a known thing on the mk1
