S5 Gearbox

Question my audi s5 gearbox has blown and needs replacing would a A5 3.0 gearbox fit in or any others?

Reason I ask is the gearbox specialist i went to said s5 funny enough uses the same gearbox as a A5

You're best getting one of the same gearbox code ideally.

Just because the casing or outer box is identical from one model to the next, does not mean the gear ratios inside are also identical.
