Artea Posted yesterday at 12:33 PM Posted yesterday at 12:33 PM Good afternoon all, Just wondering if anyone could help me regarding upgrading the stereo in my "new" car. It's an 07 plate A3 with the standard red LED head unit. The wife would like me to put something a little newer in to the car and would like something that supports Android devices (Android auto). Now I'm no huge car nut and have never fitted a car stereo, but I have fitted/replaced and repaired other things so am happy to give it a go. What I am wondering is if anyone could recommend anything (don't want to spend too much £200 ish, and a known brand) as well as let me know any other parts/facias etc I will need before I get 3/4 of tye way though and realise I need something. All she needs to for is to listen to her music, Bluetooth calls an a screen to mirror the sat nav. Steering wheel has no functionality associated with it (in case you need to know). Thanks in advance, Ricky
cliffcoggin Posted yesterday at 02:33 PM Posted yesterday at 02:33 PM Beware of cheap units on eBay and the like. They sometimes do not come with the appropriate wiring adaptors and connections, so unless you are knowledgable and competent in such things I suggest you get the job done by a professional. There is a company in one of the back streets of Rochester I would recommend if I could remember its name.
Artea Posted yesterday at 03:29 PM Author Posted yesterday at 03:29 PM Thanks for the reply. Yeah I intend on steering clear of the cheap Chinese ones as the lag and slowdown on things like this will creep in over time. Happy to use a shop to buy/fit if it's a decent price overall.
