I purchased brand new 2025 A5 avant  3 weeks back , this came with 3gb of internet data from Vodafone. After only 3 weeks of car use got email from Vodafone that I run out of internet , checked my data on audi app and that's true it was almost zero. I purchased new data package but that was 15£ for 5gb .  After 1 day of use I lost 700mb and only think I can think off I was using data for is listening to music via amazon app via CarPlay system . Is Vodafone  data  used when using apple CarPlay or my phone data is used when on CarPlay ? I contacted audi and have been told that when listening music my phone data would be used but then I question myself where 700mb went in 1 day ? What is data in Vodafone package used on my audi ? I believe map updates are done via Audi connect which is active for another 3 years and is not using car data ( at least that what audi claim ) Just wondering is it worth buying packages from Vodafone , 15£ a month is more then I pay for my phone SIM card , what is this data used for ??

I've never used these data plans as they are too expensive. As long as you have Audi connect for navigation (traffic etc) which you will I just use my mobile phone with Carplay for streaming music with spotify.
