Haldex working ?

I have just had the Haldex oil changed with  new oil filter at my local indie. 150 quid all in  which included the oil change kit,very reasonable I thought.

However, it occurred to me how will I know if the 4 wheel drive is actually working?

The car will not be used much in the winter and then only in the dry weather.

As I understand it the system is set up to be front wheel drive with the Haldex only driving the rear wheels when the fronts start to lose grip.

I was not specifically looking for a quattro  it just so happened that it was a quattro car that was the best one for the money so not that bothered either way.

However,it would be nice to know if the  4 wheel drive is working .

Are there any warning lights that come up if the Haldex is not working ?
