Car is dead, cannot be unlocked

Featured Replies

Hi, I have a problem with my 2009 A6 where I can't get into the car. If I press the remote control, nothing happens but the diode flashes very quickly. But the car won't unlock. If I try with the real one in the door, nothing happens either and the lock cylinder feels very spongy. On the dashboard, some lights are on such as: oil warning, glow plug light, turn signal indicator and a few more. But everything electrical is completely dead. Can anyone advise what the fault could be? Thanks in advance! Peter

I think its maybe 4 year, but the problem is how to get in and charge and replace 😉

No its not, and its just the drivers door i can use the key on 😞

I am surprised, though perhaps I should not be, that there are no lock barrels in the passenger door and boot lid. I guess there may be a way to release the bonnet from under the front bumper but I don't know how.

I have a pre-facelift (2005) A6 and it has a key slot in the boot lid near the rear registration lamp. You cannot see it unless you crouch down and look from underneath. Is that not an option on the facelifted cars?
