Mmi display screen issue

Featured Replies

My 2018 a3 sport back has been having issues with the pop up screen in the last couple of weeks. Screen keeps turning off and on by itself popping in and out from the dashboard. I felt it might have been a wiring issue that water or condensation might have got through the centre console or cup holder’s. I disconnected the centre console and all wiring attached sprayed with electrical cleaner and dried out all wiring components under the centre console. Everything worked fine after reconnecting the battery. Post 2 weeks later everything was perfect until I went in home one night came back out and now the car is having the same problems. It’s very cold here in Ireland right now and I noticed water droplets on the inside of the front windows when I got into the car. I’ve been advised to buy a new center console but I’m afraid that might not be the problem and don’t want to waste money. Any auto electrician I’ve called are too busy or telling me buy a new centre console. Can anyone recommend what I might be able to do or buy myself to see if it’s a wiring problem or just the center console. I found residue under the center console after removing it didn’t seem to be water but a sticky substance. Thanks in advance for any help.
