Strut nut removal tool

Featured Replies

Hi all,

Could someone help me with the tool required to remove the nut that holds the bump stop onto the rear shock. Audi S3 8V 2020.

I've seen lots of VAG ones offered all of differing sizes.

Part number(s) or size(s) greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Andy

If it helps it's the allen key through a hex socket type - allen key to stop strut turning as the nut is unscrewed with the hex socket.

There’s actually specialist sockets for this job that allows you to torque the nut up correctly if anyone is replacing springs or top mounts often

Crows foot Spanner attachment's also work

Sockets are called go through, or pass through which means you can get Allen key bit on a 1/2” ratchet and hold the socket with a spanner. Avoid Chinese EBay rubbish. Choose brands such as Draper, Laser, Halfords Professional, etc. if you’re feeling flush, Teng tools.
