Upholsterer

Featured Replies

Hi all, any recommendations for an upholsterer in Hertfordshire/London or surrounding areas?
Thank you

Hello Kieran,

Not wanting to preempt any recommendations from members, but have tried a Google search for Classic car trimmers in your area of interest?

Well worth doing, in addition to making contact with an ‘all makes’ Classic car club in your area, and asking for recommendations there.
Regards,

Gareth.

Will do Gareth, that’s the next step, I’d rather hear from people who have used a good upholsterer, I just don’t fully trust all these “gleaming reviews “ these days

Being realistic Kieran, I doubt whether many members on here will have had to source car trimmers, but we never know.

The ‘knowledge’ is more likely to be with local classic car enthusiasts - hence the suggestion.
Please let us know how you get on.

Regards,

Gareth.

Yes you could be right, I’ve contacted a few this afternoon, it doesn’t fill me with confidence, I told them what I needed doing, & asked how much material will I need, I got “answers” back ranging from  3 meters- 10 meters!

‘I contacted a few this afternoon….’ A few what Kieran?
Re. quantity of fabric - measure the areas you are going to cover and add about 15% for overage. If you find an acceptable fabric then it’s likely to be in 54 inch widths, so you would need to calculate how many individual areas you are going to accommodate within that width.
