Audi etron boot closing fully

I have a 2022 etron 55 and I am having issues with the boot not fully closing it electronically goes up and down but don’t fully go into the closed position. 
it won’t fully close even manually and seams as if the boot is misaligned. No damage one day the boot was closed  I opened it and the boot never closed since then. Ongoing with Audi its a 6-8 week wait for a dealer,just out of 3 year warranty in November and discovered fault in January any thoughts on the cause been told a KD2 update may have caused this.
