Back again,
This may sound like an obvious question, but does anyone know where  I can get a dipstick for my car, A4 B8.5. At the moment I have to check the oil level via the MMI, I don't know if anyone feels the same, but I find it incredibly annoying. The dipstick tube is there but with a removable blank so the "mechanics" can check how much oil they put in when they serviced it, what about the owner. I mean,why get rid of it? Anyway, I've found a couple of different parts numbers online, but the length seems to vary, so I was hoping somebody had already bought one from somewhere and could point me in the right direction. Even the actual length I need would be useful.

Speak to Audi parts. I agree, Audi removing dipstick to rely on MMI is worthy of a future Darwin award!

Thanks for the reply Spartacus , yeah I'm thinking that Audi are my only real choice, especially if I want it to measure the oil right🤣

Nah Martin, I called Audi and they where thier usual helpful selves, just told me there isn't one. But they did tell me that the "mechanics" do have a tool for servicing but that was it. So when filling or topping up, it's a guessing game for the owners. What a fantastic idea. I sure the this company used to be one of the world best car makers.
