Twenty years ago there would have been no debate. But in Britain’s today, driving even modest cars has become a luxury increasingly out of reach of ordinary people.

My Q5 had a list price of about £42k in 2018. It now seems to be around £56k

Hi all, my name is Rob, new to this forum as of today 👍🏻 I have an Audi Q3 S Line Plus 2016 and have an issue with the stop start system. When stopping the car it will randomly cut out and will start again after about 4 or 5 minute. After this it could be weeks brote it happens again. Does anybody know what the solution is or the cause of it. Just to know I have had a new earth strap and new sensors which attach to the battery, however this was after the issue started. Does anyone have a solut

I have an eight year old Q5. It has done a low mileage of almost 14k miles and does a lot of short journeys. I've never had any (obvious) problems with the battery but have read that as batteries deteriorate they can cause electrical problems. It's in for a service next week and just wondered about getting a new battery at the same time. I'm not bothered by the cost, just don't want any problems with the car.

Hi Everyone, I couldn't find any similar posts on this issue. Last weekend I filled my car from 1/4 tank to full, when I started it up the fuel level hadn't changed, I turned it off and on again and the fuel now read at empty and 0 miles, a few seconds later a tank malfunction error message popped up. I drove away and before long it jumped up to full. I scanned the car with OBD Eleven and its showing fault code B103E1B - Fuel level sensor 1 resistance too high. I've read elsewhere that this c

Ok, after completing the gearbox swap and driving the car for a few months, things have started to fail. The speedo doesn't work, even after putting in a speedo pickup in the gearbox, sensor and repairing the wiring. The electric windows all stopped working. The central locking won't work. The airbag and abs light work as they please. My next step is to strip it and turn it into a track car. I know they are not known for being great on a track, but I will try anyway. I have a 2018 Q5 that has done about 14k from new. it stands outside. I have had three brake pad warnings this year. They don't look worn down but I wonder if they deteriorate with age. I was at my usual garage a months ago and they said that they looked OK.

Morning everyone, Thought I’d chuck a post up and see what people think. Had the car a few months it’s a b7 1.9tdi, supposedly remaped by the last owner. I’ve spent most of the last 6 months repairing all the stupid mistakes they made and anything else left behind. Current issues are : EML on for glow plug system error (glow plug error not on dash. Oil coolant level low - it’s never low despite it telling me m Knocking from the front end on stopping.

A My A6 c7 has came up on the dash to add 1 litre of oil. I added 1 litre and then came up again 1 week later, done the same again. Eventually I got the mechanic to check it out. Couldn't see anything wrong , no oil leaking , replaced the engine oil sensor, 5 litres taken out and 7 added. Three weeks later same thing happened again. Dip stick added and the levels are okay. Anyone else experience this or similar? Thanks

Hi, this maybe a sill question!!! I need to change my Battery in my 60 plate Audi A3, the guy in the shop said there is 2 types, one for stop start car and a one without (big difference in price). My car dosent seem to have stop start, because it dosent do it!! But the guy in the shop says it can turn itself off!!! There is nothing on the current battery to say its a stop start battery !!! Guy in shop says if you use a standard one in a stop start in can effect the ecu, so some functions wont wo

2026 SQ8 Often my boot opens when I open the drivers door. Sometimes I find it open for no reason even when the key is not on my person. Today I found the front passenger window opened and the roof tilted about 10 minutes after arriving home when they were definitely closed. Has anyone else had these issues? Hi guys New to the Audi forum, even though I've had my car for about 8 years. Had a lot of work done on it lately, including crank pulley, drive belt, water pump, coolant valve, etc. Car is in otherwise good working order and has clocked up 108k miles. Hi all. I’ve had my 2020 avant 45TFSI for 4 days, and when I got in yesterday it smelled really musty and damp. I checked the carpets to find the rear offside footwell soaked! More towards the centre. It’s obviously been leaking a while due to the musty smell. is this a common issue? I’ve now rejected this vehicle but would like to know before I look for another …
