Hi brand new to this site and to audi in genral so i wonder if you can help??

Just baught my first audi, a a4 1.9 sport 130. When its cold it splutters like its running on 3 cylinders and blows blue smoke for 30 secs till its warm then runs absolutly perfect. Also when its warm it starts perfect too.

Any ideas!?

Could be start of head gasket what happens is with it sitting the oil or water sits on top of piston will run like crap until it clears it might not be though check not using water and oil
