Oil between block and head

Featured Replies

Hi,

Apologies - new user here. After many years of new Fiat 500n ownership two small people caught up with me. Purchased an A4 Avant TFSi 1.8 170. So far loving it. Brilliantly built and just what we need (slightly bigger boot than a 500!)

Playing about this afternoon I saw this on the driver's block side. There is a small amount of oil across the whole block. The car has 8300 on the clock. I would not normally expect to see this. Am I being paranoid? I this normal? It worries me instinctively.

I would be grateful for any comments or thoughts you could give. The car is well in warranty so not too worried at this point,

Many thanks

Robin

First I'd clean it all up and see if it's still leaking fresh oil.

Have you checked the oil level to see if it's over or under filled?
