LED headlights poor range

Featured Replies

Hi,

I wonder, for audi cars with ful LED headlights (non-matrix), are the beams supposed to self-level while driving and also do a levelling self test during start up?

The dealer says everything is fine on my A8 D4 but the range on those LED lights is just worse than on the xenon headlamps I had before. The visibility drops to 10..20m on straight slopes, the beam does not go up & down during start up as it does on the xenon lamps. The beam level is OK when stationary.

It's on warranty and I fear that the dealer will start seeing a problem when the warranty expires.

Would anyone have any experience with LED headlights please.

Cheers

Marcin

I'm not totally sure if I'm honest but I have a feeling that LED lights do not require self levelling. Also, I've read some reports that early LED headlights were not as bright as xenons. They do look cool though!
