Engine Light On - audi a3 1.9 2009

Featured Replies

Hi everyone,

i have had the engine management light turn on recently. I got someone
to carry out a diagnostic test and the code it gave was p0473 exhaust
pressure sensor 1 g450 signal too high. Now the guy at the garage thinks
even though it says sensor fault it is probably the dpf with the issue.
He tried selling me a dpf cleaning kit but i am not sure exactly if the
sensor needs replacing or the dpf is just clogged.

Any ideas? Help appreciated.

With that code I would first try fitting a new sensor and calibrating it, followed by a forced DPF regen. That would be the cheapest route.

Failing that, try the DPF cleaner or remove the DPF and have it mapped (not technically legal for the MOT anymore though), or replace the DPF (most expensive option I would think).
