Audi TT 2001 keyfob problems

Featured Replies

Hi everyone,

I have an Audi TT from 2001 and recently changed the batteries in the key fob. I went to the car and couldn't open the door or boot with the keyfob buttons.

I looked on the internet for ways and none of them has worked thus far.

Also this has just started happening. When I open the door with the key and turn the engine on the hazard lights flash including the hazard button and stay flashing for 4-5 minutes then go off. I get out of the car and lock the door again and they flash for another 4-5 mins.

Does anyone know what the problem could be and how I can reprogramme my key to remote central lock/unlock please? I have also gone through the service manual (975 pages of it!!!!)

Thanks in advance

Jon

Thanks for the advice but I only have one key. Is there a way to do it with just one key?

I don't believe so.

You can either pick up the cheapest most basic key (valet key I think) from a dealer which is enough to program it and turn the locks so will act as a spare key for you. or some people with one key have tried to bodge it by removing the lock part and using a screwdriver etc to turn but obviously you risk breaking something.
