HK1
Hi all, I have a 2006 Audi Q7 3.0d - keyless push start. When I start the car from cold, the engine does not start first time. I have to press the engine start button and leave the car ignition on for around 20 seconds. Then when I fire the engine, it starts first time. A brand new battery fitted. It tends to be worse in cold weather. Also, if I drive the car (say go to the supermarket) and leave it parked for a few mins, the next time I start it, it starts first time with no delay? Any help much appreciate! Thanks
James
Could be glow plug related? Have you scanned for error codes?
HK1
Hi James, yes, scanned for codes and no errors. The glow plug light goes off in 2 seconds of turning the ignition.
James
Is this only in cold weather or just cold starts in general?
Q7phantom
Had the same problem a few years ago.. Turned out to be battery.. It's under the front passenger seat is quite simple to replace..
Q7phantom
Just noticed you've had a battery fitted, make sure it's the right one and not a lower power one as Euro car parts tried to fob me off with!!
James
Yes as Naz says surprising what a dodgy battery can do sometimes!
