A3 1.6 FSI Sport 2004 ECU Replacement

Featured Replies

Hi People,

Sorry 1st post.

Today I bought 2004 A3 1.6 FSI Sport but it needs an ECU. All works fine when running, but onced switched off you need to disconnect the battery, then switch key on, connect battery and then it starts and goes.

Can I just buy another ECU from same year and model and its plug and play?

Any ideas?

How do you know it needs an ECU? Did you get the car at a steep discount because of this?

Audi have said that it needs to be replaced and yes to 2nd part of question.

Get the part number off yours and look for an identical one on ebay.

Will likely then need an auto electrician or an Audi specialist to code it to the car for you though.
