Q7

Featured Replies

Hi everyone my name is Tony.

I did own a Audi about 35 years ago ( a 100ls)

but I have just bought a 2007 Q7. Bought it on auto trader from a dealer who operates from home. Nice car has got the odd mark as you would expect, but on the drive home we tried to work the sat nav, but it appears that the control panel doesn't work, the map comes up but when you try and scroll down using the knob nothing happens

it thoughts or suggestions,

the dealer isn't interested

Hi Tony,

Does the MMI controller work with any other function or is it just playing up with the map?

FYI, the dealer is legally liable for any fault present at the time of sale for 6 months from purchase.

Hi James.

thanks for advise.

I took it to a Audi specialist yesterday. ( hazzydayz in St.Albans)  really nice and helpful.

they took the panel out and tested it. It looked like something had been spilt because the buttons were a little sticky, but there are little magnets on the bottom of the control knob and it was theses that was faulty, but he cleaned it all and put a new set of contacts in(all while I waited)

now it all works great.

as for the dealer, he won't answer my calls or respond to text messages, so I have reported it to auto trader .

thanks again

tony
