Hi guys, I've got a 2000 a6 avant 2.5tdi Quattro.... all was fine then it decided to stop and wouldn't start again. After a little persuasion it coughed into life but will only tick over. You can put your foot on the throttle and nothing happens and the idle is a little lower than usual.

I've had it plugged in with the AA and an error of : 

021e needle sensor open circuit / short.

Anyone able to help as I really like the car and it ran like a watch prior to this issue and had a full new fuel system 6 years ago which cost a small fortune!

Hi there jono, check the wiring to each of your injectors and eliminate there being a broken wire to one of them or failed plastic covering the wires allowing them to short out
