Gearbox Issues 2.5V6 tdi

Featured Replies

Hi everyone,

I've had trouble with my car jumping out of 2nd gear and not going in properly sometimes. Tried changing the locking sleeves in the side of the box, which slightly improved things, but there was play in the selector rod inside the box. Although I can get the box repaired, I have a whole A6 that is also a 2.5V6 tdi, but it's a 1999 on a "V".  The box looks slightly different, it has the bolt-in locking sleeves whereas mine are push in. Will this box go straight in mine?

Thank you so much for your time 😀

Joe.

My car is a 2.5v6 tdi Audi A4 Avant 160 sport on a 53 plate.

Hi Joe...welcome to the Forum

I would imagine there are several differences in the two boxes given the age range difference.

Hopefully someone on here might have experienced this problem before and can advise you further.

Keep us informed of the outcome.

Cheers   Trevor
