A3 front wipers not working

Hi guys I've bought a audi a3 2004 2.0l tdi. The wipers don't work at all. The guy I bought it from had a garage fit new motor that worked a few times then stopped. Any help or advice welcome

Hi Robert...welcome to the Forum

I have the same problem on a Golf (same mechanics) and I beleive that the fault is down to the linkage seizing.

Worth checking the fuse first to see if it has blown....especially if there is ice on the screen and the blades stick, tends to either break the linkage or blow the fuse.

Hi hope all is well do you have an aftermarket HID kit fitted??? 

I had a 2004 A3 2.0TDI and fitted a cheap and nasty ebay HID kit and that was the problem!
