Need radio code from live radio before I pull it!

Featured Replies

I am about to upgrade my radio and expect the old one to stay in the attic till I sell the car. I never got the code. If I do this I'm sure it will be dead when I put it back in, so how to I get the code from my live one please?

Hi William....welcome to the Forum

I would contact the local Audi dealer who should be able to supply you with the code for free....VW dealers do.

Maybe get the code before disconnecting the live feed, just pull the radio out until you can see the label on it and you need the serial number to get the code (i think also the model number, etc) and proof of ownership (registration documents).

Let us know how you get on with it.

Cheers   Trevor

Hi folks - I know this is an old topic but, as far as I am aware - if the radio is the original (factory) unit in the car, it doesn't need a code if refitted to the same car - only if you try to put it in a different car.
