MPG Query

Featured Replies

Hi

New to the Audi world after having a Vauxhall for the last 12 years !!!

Got my brand spanking new A4 yesterday - initial impression is that I really like it - MMI is great, comfort is good, not as big as my old insignia but overall I really like it.

Took it on my first motorway cruise today - most of my miles are motorway miles.  However I was a little disappointed with the MPG I got at the end of the trips.  The manual etc stated 70+MPG, but I only got 52 (on both journeys) - I wasn't driving too fast 50-70MPH - average speed at the end of the journey was around 41mph.  It was in efficient mode as well.

Is this just my driving or the vehicle bedding in or something completely else?

Any tips from others would be great

Hi....welcome to the Forum

Also, welcome back to the world of Audi

Generally, manufacturers stated claims are way off the mark and usually carried out in simulation. However, that said...if you were to drive at 55 mph constantly on a level road then you may achieve somewhere near their claims.

In reality, the MPG you achieved is not too bad and should improve as everything settles down.

Good to have you onboard and keep us updated with how the MPG improves.

Cheers  Trevor
