VW spiecialists repairs

Featured Replies

Good evening

just after some advise , and if anyone else has had this problem

car wouldn't start November 16 , garage said it needed new DPF not genuine Audi part ,( motor factors ) garage also informed me that he tried to regenerate it first but didn't work ,,he also said rocker cover needed to be cleaned as oil was conjealed .,total bill £1045

Car broke down January 25th 17 with low oil pressure , garage informed me today that the oil filter was clogged up and look likes it has never been changed , I asked him surely the oil and filter should have been changed when he changed the DPF filter and cleaned rocker cover ,

his reply was the oil and the filter has nothing to do with replacing DPF, so oil and filter didn't need to be changed ? I'm not a mechanic but surly they should have been changed especially after regeneration ?

Hi Julian....welcome to the Forum

Generally, the only time an oil & filter change takes place is if the car is in for an annual service, or if the engine oil becomes contaminated (by coolant for example).

The DPF and Valve Cover Gasket would not necessitate the replacement of the engine oil or filter as such.

Cheers  Trevor
